I highly recommend two level-headed pieces from unlikely sources: William Saletan, writing in Slate, takes on what he calls "food apartheid," -- echoing some observations I made in a July 30 post -- while Joel Achenbach, writing in The Washington Post, launches a welcome broadside against what he calls "weather alarmism."
